Daily Equity Prices and Market Overview 03.10.2012

U.S. stocks rose slightly on Wednesday as stronger-than-expected U.S. employment and also service industries data were released. U.S. markets were gaining especially earlier today from the ADP data while later afternoon investors became more concerned about the global economy growth and lost positive sentiment. European indices edged down as markets are concerned about problematic situation in Spain as Mariano Rajoy, Spanish Prime Minister, still did not ask for the bailout and thus the bond-buying program cannot be activated and investors are forced to wait for the decision.
The DJ30 closed at 13,494.61, gaining 12.25 points (0.09%), SPX500 closed at 1,450.99 gaining 5.24 points (0.36%) and the NASDAQ100 closed at 2,818.84, gaining 19.55 points (0.70%) in today’s trading.
The CAC40 closed at 3,406.02, declining 8.21 points (-0.24%), FTSE100 closed at 5,825.81, gaining 16.36 points (0.28%) and DAX40 closed at 7,322.08, gaining 16.22 points (0.22%).
Facebook Inc (FB) became one of the top 100 global brands according to Interbrand’s Best Global Brands 2012. The world’s largest social networking site was listed 69th, while Amazon (AMZN) was listed 20th and eBay was listed 36th in this year’s chart. Even though Facebook is now having difficulties as its financial do not seem very robust to investors, it has huge brand equity. Facebook’s IPO was the third-largest in U.S. history and the seventh-largest globally.
