Daily Equity Prices and Market Overview 11.09.2012

On Tuesday European and U.S. indices rose, while treasuries and the dollar weakened amid expectations that the German constitutional court ruling would not interfere with a euro zone rescue plan and that the Federal Reserve will act to stimulate the economy.

The dollar was also affected by  Moody’s announcement that the United States could lose its triple-A debt rating should next year’s budget talks not result in a lower debt to GDP ratio. With the dollar increasingly becoming more pressured investors expects the Fed to announce additional stimulus measures, when the central bank announces its policy decision after a two-day meeting on Thursday.

The DJ30 closed at 13,324.14, gaining 69.85 points (0.53%), SPX500 closed at 1,433.58, gaining 4.5 points (0.31%) and the NASDAQ closed at 2,784.89, declining 3.46 points
(-0.12%) in today’s trading.

The CAC40 closed at 3,537.30, gaining 31.35 points (0.89%), FTSE100 closed at 5,792.19, declining -1.01 points (-0.02%) and DAX40 closed at 7,310.11, gaining 96.41 points (1.34%).


Google Inc. (GOOG) has entered into the tablet market for a new demographic, as Toys R Us has chosen Google’s Android operating system to run on its proprietary tablet computer designed for kids. Google Inc. (GOOG) will have its Android 4.0 operating system running the tablet, which is expected to have 50 pre-installed apps aimed at children – including games and an e-book app for reading. Today Google Inc. (GOOG) closed at 692.19 declining 8.58 points (-1.22%).
