Daily Equity Prices and Market Overview 14.09.2012

On Friday U.S. indices rose, continuing yesterday’s trend closing at the highest level since December 2007 as markets gained on the Federal Reserve’s monetary easing program. On Thursday Bernanke announced that the FED will stimulate the economy by adding $40 billion each month until jobs market shows sustained growth. European indices gained as well, following the same trend and stayed on course to extend short term gains, after the third quantitative easing by the FED.
The DJ30 closed at 13,593.37, gaining 53.51 points (0.40%), SPX500 closed at 1,465.77 gaining 5.78 points (0.40%) and the NASDAQ closed at 2,855.23, gaining 23.88 points
(0.84%) in today’s trading.
The CAC40 closed at 3,581.58, gaining 79.49 points (2.27%), FTSE100 closed at 5,915.55, gaining 95.63 points (1.64%) and DAX40 closed at 7,412.13, gaining 101.81 points (1.39%).
Apple Inc. (AAPL) announced that the new Iphone 5 will not be available in the online store for the next two weeks, giving feed to the speculations that the latest mobile model is already sold out. The stock reached a record high of $693.20. Since last year Apple’s stock reached approximately 60% return of investment. Today the stock gained 8.30 points (1.22%) closing at $691.28.
