On Thursday European and U.S indices fell, after weak data from the United States, Europe and China fueled global growth worries, driving investors to perceived safe-haven assets. The data signaled that the Chinese economy remains on the path of slowdown with a seventh quarter of slowing annual growth, while U.S. manufacturing had its weakest quarter in three years and conditions at European businesses worsened. Although affected by dim macro data, European equities bounced off the day’s lows as a number of investors took advantage of the dips to lift their exposure to equities.

The DJ30 closed at 13,597.62, gaining 19.66 points (0.14%), SPX500 closed at 1,460.27 declining 0.78 points (-0.05%) and the NASDAQ closed at 2,861.70, declining 2.33 points
(-0.08%) in today’s trading.

The CAC40 closed at 3,509.92, declining 21.19 points (-0.62%), FTSE100 closed at 5,854.64, declining 33.84 points (-0.57%) and DAX40 closed at 7,389.49, declining 1.27 points (-0.02%).

Facebook Inc. (FB) announced that it will begin charging businesses to run promotional offers on its social network, changing an otherwise free service into a potential revenue generator amid investors and analysts pressure on the company to find new sources of growth. Facebook launched Facebook Offers earlier this year, enabling businesses to send deals to their Facebook fans. Users can then claim the offers from their Facebook News Feeds and redeem the vouchers at stores to get special discounts. Facebook Inc. (FB) closed at $ 22.59, declining -0.7 points (-3.01%).
