On Friday European and U.S indices rose as Spain discussed reforms regarding the possibility of a bailout package from the EU, but the uncertain economic outlook held back the market. The Spanish government is debating over the set of austerity measures, which need to be implemented in order to reduce spending and meet the terms of a potential bailout package.
Worries over the European debt crisis kept markets in a tight situation this week, with investors being concerned of, whether or not, Spain might seek a bailout package to aid its struggling economy. The hesitation is making inventors call into question the country’s ability to deal with its debt.
The DJ30 closed at 13,579.47, declining 7.46 points (-0.13%), SPX500 closed at 1,460.15 declining 0.11 points (-0.01%) and the NASDAQ closed at 2,861.64, declining 0.06 points
(-0.00%) in today’s trading.
The CAC40 closed at 3,530.72, gaining 20.80 points (0.59%), FTSE100 closed at 5,852.62, declining 2.02 points (-0.03%) and DAX40 closed at 7,451.62, gaining 62.13 points (0.84%).
Today Apple Inc. (AAPL) launched its newest version of the iPhone, while thousands of ecstatic consumers crowded the stores of Apple Inc. The company sold 2 million preorders of iPhone 5 within the first 24 hours of opening sales. Its pre-order sales record beat the record of the iPhone 4S, which sold one million units within the first 24 hours. Customers were lined up all over the world to pick up the latest model of the company’s best-selling product. Deutsche Bank increased its price forecast for the shares of the world’s biggest company to $850 from $775. Apple Inc. (AAPL) closed at $ 700.09, gaining 1.39 points (0.20%).
