If you've marked that you have forex trading experience upon registration, you will automatically be directed to the Expert Mode screen. Unlike the Visual Mode, here you will have one screen that contains all the trading tools and features that you can possibly require. You may switch from Expert Mode to Visual Mode at any time by clicking the respective buttons at the top of the screen. Any open trades you may have will be displayed in the Visual Lobby under Open Trades.
Once you log into Expert Mode you will see the following screen:
Let's go over all the features by the numbers:
-
Live Currency Rates and Charts – This is where you see the live rates for all the currency pairs up for trading. By clicking on the chart button on the left you can view a chart of the pair for over a chosen time period. You can chose between basic charts (that include line or candlestick charts) or advanced charts (that include a variety of technical indicators and Fibonacci retracements). In addition, by clicking the bell icon to the right of each pair, you can set a buy rate and sell rate alarms for each pair, so you would be notified when a pair has reached the set price you determined. Clicking on the “Commodities” tab will enable you to view the dealing rates for commodities and trade them against the US Dollar.
-
Buy / Sell Buttons – These buttons determine whether you're buying or selling the currency pair you've selected. Note that these buttons disappear if you've chosen to trade in "one click trading mode".
-
Trade Options – This is where you set up your leverage, your trade amount and your trade orders. You can also click the "carry trade over weekend" button to set your trade to remain open over the weekend. Expert mode provides you with a wider range of leverage options, as low as 1:5 and as high as 1:400. You can also edit your trade orders and over the weekend options after opening the trade.
-
Open Trades – This is where you monitor all your open trades. As you can see the stop loss and take profit orders are editable, as is the carry trade over the weekend box. You can edit your trading orders using the arrow buttons, or click on “edit” to manually type in the stop loss and take profit figures. Clicking the close button closes the trade. You may open up to100 simultaneous trades in this panel.
-
History – Click here to see a historical log of all your past trades.
-
News – Click here to see a live stream of forex news.
-
Calendar – Click here to see a calendar of financial events and announcements.
-
Totals – This panel presents you with your updated account summary. Your realized profit is the total profit you've realized while trading with the platform. Your virtual balance is the balance you would have if you were to close all your trades. Usable margin is the margin you have left for trading. Current investment is the sum of all your open trades. Unrealized profit is how much you stand to gain by closing your trades at the moment.
-
Account Balance –This is where you can view your current balance. Clicking on the balance will take you to the cashier.
-
Community Panel - Here you’ll find public and private chats, our traders’ forum, and of course all the ways to contact our support. This is also where you can access our comprehensive tutorials, view challenge rankings and use the Top Traders' Insight tool.
-
Visual Mode – Use these buttons to switch between Visual Mode and Expert Mode.
-
Logout – Use this button to exit the platform.
-
Chose instruments – chose from the two tabs, on which instruments you want to trade: currency pairs, or Commodities
-
One Click Trading - One click trading mode is very useful for experienced traders who like to trade a certain way and don't need to keep setting up the same trades. It also gets rid of the need to confirm your trades. You can literally open a trade with one click of the mouse. In order to learn more about this feature, please visit the One Click Trading page in the guide.
-
Carry Trades Over Weekend - Ticking the "Carry Trades Over Weekend" box will ensure that your trade is not closed when the markets shut down for the weekend on Friday evening and that your position is still open once the markets resume activity on Sunday afternoon. This feature has some limitations, and you are advised to read more about it in the “Carry Trades Over Weekend" page in this guide.
-
Edit Stop loss / Take profit - You can set the Stop Loss and Take Profit of your position after opening the trade, even if you forgot to specify them while setting up the position.
-
Chart - If you click on the chart button of a specific position, a new window would open, with an interactive chart of that particular trade. The interactive graph represents the movement of the currency pair of your selection. Placing your curser over any point on the graph will open a small window detailing the rate at that specific date and time. The graph is a very useful feature that lets you analyze the trends of your currency pairs and what they might mean for your speculative purposes. Above the graph you can choose the charting tools you wish to use. You have the options of viewing a candlestick chart and drawing trend lines and channels so you can choose your trades based on rising and falling trends. You can also edit your stop loss and take profit from this screen. It is also possible to close the position from the graphs screen.
Now let's take a closer look at some of the features.
