Lobby
First, let’s take a closer look at the eToro lobby in front of you. On the chart
below you can find detailed explanations about all the different features you can
find in the lobby:
- Trading Navigation Area – This is where you navigate between the different trading
arenas, each representing a different approach to Forex trading.
- News Reel – This is where you find a continuous stream of the latest Forex news,
updates and information that may affect your trading decisions.
- Switch Trading Mode – the “Trade for Real Money”, or conversely the “Practice Trading
on Virtual Money” buttons allow you to switch between trading modes without the
necessity of logging out of eToro. When you are in Real Trading mode, a “Real Trade
Mode” indication will appear beneath the news reel.
- My Open Trades – This is where you can see all your currently active trades and
how they’re fairing in their respective arenas. You can go directly to the trading
arena by clicking on the trade of your choice, and you can close the trade directly
from the lobby by clicking on “close”. Clicking on the “Expand” button will direct
you to your trading log where you can see a more detailed description of your trades.
This is also where you find your trading log which shows you your active and historical
trades.
- Live FX Rates – This is where you see live, up to date rates on the most popular
currency pairs, those being all US Dollar based pairs, and some of the Euro based
pairs. This window also displays live rate fluctuations, and clicking on the chart
button near each currency pair will show you the graph of this currency pair’s performance
in the last 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days.
- Account Balance and Cashier – Your account balance shows you the available balance
that you can use for trading. Clicking on “Click to Deposit” will take you to the
cashier where you can process all your deposits and withdrawals.
- Community panel – Here you’ll find public and private chats, our traders’ forum,
and of course all the ways to contact our support. This is also where you can access
our comprehensive tutorials and view tournament rankings.
- History – The history log shows the user all his past trades.
- Logout – Use this button to exit eToro.
It’s important to remember that you can return to the lobby from any arena, at any
time, without closing your trades in that arena by clicking on “lobby” at
the bottom right of the screen.
Now that we’ve familiarized ourselves with the lobby, let’s take a few moments to
get to know each trading arena.
Note: all trades represented in this guide are incidental and do
not in any way indicate actual or potential profit or loss that you can incur at
eToro.
