The ideal candidate will have experience in state money transmitter license application submissions and license maintenance requirements. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations, as well as consumer protection laws. 

The role is based in Hoboken, NJ. Outstanding remote applicants may be considered but will be required to commute on-site as required.

There is an immediate position open for a Compliance & Licensing Specialist with experience in the money transmitter license application process, including extensive knowledge of Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry (NMLS). 

The ideal candidate will have experience in state money transmitter license application submissions and license maintenance requirements. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations, as well as consumer protection laws. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Support the acquisition and ongoing maintenance of state money transmitter licenses.
  • Represent the company in correspondences with various state regulators.
  • Coordinate state level examinations and Title 31 IRS Audits.
  • Interact with service providers and consultants on compliance and licensing matters.
  • Work closely with other teams in the U.S. and globally on issues related to Compliance.
  • Assist with Suspicious Activity Reporting, as needed.
  • Manage bond requirements and state registrations.

  • Bachelor’s level education or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience (state license acquisition and/or maintenance)
  • Working knowledge of NMLS and industry best practices
  • Ability to communicate directly with regulators and to perform ongoing research on regulatory matters
  • Ability to perceive and initiate independent actions
  • Excellent verbal and written correspondence skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload
  • Ability to work under pressure and changing deadlines, and attention to detail are essential
  • Interest in Blockchain and cryptocurrencies is a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
