I don't post things like this for fun. I've been warning about Adobe for the best part of a year. There are some brilliant PIs caught up in this fiasco of a company. I can't blame them, as the company is painting a picture that simply isn't reality. I blame Adobe. In my opinion, they are falsely representing the company to investors, which is bad form. ⚠️ I want to issue a warning about Adobe because I do not want to see people caught out. But first, a little caveat. There are some excellent investors holding Adobe here, some of whom I am friendly with, so I always hesitate to heavily criticise stocks that people hold with high conviction for fear of unintentionally upsetting anyone. I have also managed to upset people I do not know in the past by doing the same. I really am not trying to annoy anyone, please believe me. The reason I want to speak out is that I genuinely believe Adobe is in serious trouble, and I have been saying so for quite some time now if you check my old posts. Adobe is essentially facing a perfect storm that could end its reign: AI disruption: Tools like Midjourney and Sora are commoditising high end design. If good enough results are instant and cheap elsewhere, Adobe’s expensive suite loses its appeal. Subscription backlash: The FTC is coming down hard on its cancellation practices. If Adobe is forced to make leaving easy, we might see a mass exodus. Lost trust: Between high prices and concerns over training AI on user data, professionals are moving to Affinity or Canva. And most importantly, financial media hype: Adobe is being tipped as one of the best value plays by almost every investing and trading publication out there. If you have any experience with how financial media works, the inversion narrative suggests this means they want you to buy so that they can sell.
