Meet Popular Investor @techiemetal, who trades “with a little help from his friends”

Joe Cocker once sang “With a Little Help From My Friends,” and this is how Zack Winter from New Zealand, AKA @techiemetal, trades: getting a little help from his eToro friends with his portfolio.

When I search for a Popular Investor (PI) to invest in, I usually find PIs who invest or trade one specific instrument or segment with which  they are familiar – but not this guy. Almost 20% of his portfolio is composed of other Popular Investors he copies, such as goldoilstocks, jaynemesis, tradingrelax, and mefeee.

When you give his portfolio a closer look, you can see that it is highly diversified, a fact which helps him keep it balanced:

His copiers get exposed to various instruments such as Platinum, Gold, Bitcoin and also the EFA ETF, which gives them exposure to markets such as Europe, Australia and Asia, and tap the potential that lies in investing in these sectors and countries:

When we examine his exposure to the market over time, we can see that most of his money is invested, a fact which gives his copiers a great CopyTrading experience:

Zack is great evidence of t the impact of the Editor’s Choice section: our clients like him. He went from just 5 copiers at the beginning of May to more than 100 today.

You also can learn a lot about him from his Bio:

“Investing in metals 10%, tech stocks 10% and cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin 20%, also a few index 10% and ETF positions 10%. I always manually place stop loss and a take profit limits. There is some flexibility with the weightings and short positions used at opportune times. There is also around 20% social trading where copied traders are categorized and selected carefully with slightly different/hedging trading mentalities within the portfolio. For regular trading a decision matrix is used for medium term trades with a combination of indicators that have proven to give good gains over time, especially in volatility. I will also place smaller positions for shorter-term gains, where I simply try to buy during dips or capitalise early on news events. Most trades however I am looking to hold for a number of months with low leverage, or until good gains are made. For best results copy this account with $1500USD or more.”

What about his risk and performance and other statistics? See for yourselves:

When comparing his performance to the S&P 500, his results are impressive:

So, I think you got the idea of how investors on eToro trade “with a little help from their friends.”

All trading involves risk. Only risk capital you’re prepared to lose. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Trading history presented is less than 5 years and may not suffice as basis for investment decision. This post is not investment advice.
