As cryptocurrencies become increasingly popular, a growing number of traders and investors consider them to be a viable investment option. And if you are one of these early adopters, then we have an investment product you should look into.
CopyPortfolios™ is a portfolio management product by eToro.
This particular CopyPortfolio will be open for investing with a limit placed on the daily invested amount. When it reaches its limit, it will be closed for new investors and reopened the following day. However, closing your investment can be done at any time.

CryptoPortfolio offers a diversified portfolio, focusing on cryptocurrencies with a market cap of over $1 billion (with a roundup of up to 2%) and an average daily trading volume of over $20 million throughout the month. The weight of each component within the CopyPortfolio is decided proportionally, according to the size of its market cap, with a minimum of 5%.

The CryptoPortfolio will be rebalanced by eToro’s investment committee on the first trading day of each calendar month. Delisting a currency from the CopyPortfolio will occur should it violate one of the terms mentioned above.

The CryptoPortfolio contains the following cryptocurrencies:

Bitcoin (BTC): The first and largest cryptocurrency, paving the way for hundreds of similar currencies to follow and boasting a market cap of over $40 billion. Created by an unknown inventor who uses the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto.

Ethereum (ETH): The world’s second-largest currency, labeled by many as “the next Bitcoin,” created by Russian programmer Vitalik Buterin. Ethereum has received international recognition and support from giant organisations such as Microsoft and Intel.

Bitcoin Cash (BCH): Created in August 2017, Bitcoin Cash was diverged from the original Bitcoin blockchain as a result of a hard fork. It introduced a larger block size (8MB to Bitcoin’s 1MB), which enabled faster transaction speeds and lower transaction fees. It soon grew and popularity to become one of the top 5 cryptocurrencies in the world.

Litecoin (LTC): This cryptocurrency was designed by former Google engineer Charles Lee to improve upon Bitcoin’s technology, offering quicker processing times and a larger number of tokens. It is also the first cryptocurrency to implement SegWit, a method of speeding-up transaction times without compromising the underlying blockchain technology.

Ethereum Classic (ETC): Ethereum Classic was created to serve a portion of the Ethereum community who split off in order to create a more decentralized currency, based on Ethereum’s original blockchain code.

Dash (DASH): This cryptocurrency’s focus is on instant transactions and its owners’ privacy. Developed by software programmer Evan Duffield, Dash has infrastructure that enables much faster transactions than other currencies. Therefore, it displays higher liquidity than many of its counterparts.

Ripple (XRP): Perhaps the most widely-adopted cryptocurrency, Ripple was created by American programmer Jed McCaleb to enable financial institutions to exchange different currencies, cryptocurrencies and other forms of payment (such as frequent flyer miles). It is in use by many well-known brands, such as Bank of America and UBS and is therefore highly liquid and is in constant demand.

NEO (NEO): Known as ‘Chinese Ethereum,’ NEO was the first cryptocurrency to be launched in China. Like Ethereum, it offers a platform for developing blockchain applications, such as smart contracts. Since its creators built it to easily comply with Chinese regulations, NEO could have an advantage over its peers in the country.

Stellar (XLM): Created by Ripple Labs founder Jed McCaleb, Stellar is a blockchain-based platform that enables fast transferral of funds at a low cost. Stellar has a declared social agenda, and aims to reduce global poverty and assist bankless societies. The Stellar tokens, known as ‘Lumens’ or ‘XLM,’ have a low individual value, but the overall market cap for Stellar positions it as a top-10 global cryptocurrency.

EOS (EOS): Launched mid-2017 by Hong Kong based startup block.one, EOS is a cryptocurrency that serves as the token for the EOS.IO platform. EOS.IO is a blockchain development platform, enabling its users to create decentralized apps (DApps), smart contracts and other blockchain applications. Over its first year of operation, block.one held a continuous ICO, raising more than $2 billion.

The weight of the assets may change at any time by eToro at the sole discretion of the Portfolio Manager.
