𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙛𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝟵% 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙝, keeping flexibility if any of these drivers shift sentiment quickly. ▪️𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩 𝙈𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙨 & 𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙡𝙪𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 Wednesday’s US ADP (Private Sector) report showed 32,000 jobs lost in November, the third drop in four months. Small firms saw the biggest cuts, while mid-size and large employers still added jobs at a slower pace. It’s a 𝙢𝙞𝙭𝙚𝙙 𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 - weaker private hiring, yet jobless claims remain low. 𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙖 𝙐𝙎 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙘𝙪𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙒𝙚𝙙𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙙𝙖𝙮. The release today of September’s Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) figures should give a clearer read on inflation ahead of the Fed meeting. 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙙 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙨, but shoppers were more selective, showing tighter budgets. 𝙂𝙡𝙤𝙗𝙖𝙡 𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨, with the dollar softer as traders lean toward a Fed cut. 𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩𝙨, 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙙𝙧𝙤𝙥 𝙪𝙨𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙧-𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚-𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙨, 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙝-𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙪𝙥 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧. ▪️𝙂𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙒𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝 𝙐𝙎-𝙑𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙯𝙪𝙚𝙡𝙖 tensions have risen with military action looking more likely, adding pressure to an already tight energy market. Venezuela holds the world’s largest proven oil reserves, and past periods of friction there have often pushed oil higher and lifted volatility. At the same time, 𝙍𝙪𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙖 has now all but rejected the proposed 𝙐𝙠𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙚 peace plan, adding to wider geopolitical strain. Defence names like $RHM.DE (Rheinmetall AG) and $RR.L (Rolls-Royce) and precious metals continue to steady the portfolio in this setting, while other sectors may see sharper short-term moves. ▪️𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙛𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙤 𝙉𝙤𝙩𝙚 On Monday I added around 𝟭% 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙝, as I do at the start of each month.
