Do I need to pay to open a Stellar (XLM) wallet?

There is no fee to create an XLM wallet in the eToro Money crypto wallet.

However, our provider requires a ‘reserve’ of 2.5 XLM for your XLM wallet to appear on the Stellar blockchain. This amount is held in the XLM wallet and cannot be sent to other addresses.

For example, if you have 20 XLM in your XLM balance, you will have only 17.5 XLM available to send to other wallets.
