Our \u201cresponsible trading policy\u201d calls on traders to protect themselves from emotional decision making that can result in unnecessary losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Novice traders, in particular, tend to rely more on \u201cgut feelings,\u201d because they don\u2019t necessarily have a lot of experience in financial trading to make rational and informed choices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help traders avoid making rash online trading decisions, eToro, in accordance with local financial regulators, recommends the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list wp-block-list-circle\">\n<li>Maximum leverage according to the following list:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. <\/strong>30:1 for major currency pairs;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> 20:1 for non-major currency pairs, gold and major indices;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> 10:1 for commodities other than gold and non-major equity indices;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. <\/strong>5:1 for individual equities and other reference values;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong> 2:1 for cryptocurrencies;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list wp-block-list-circle\">\n<li>Place no more than 20% of your equity on one trade<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Allocate no more than 40% of your total balance to copy one trader<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The key factors of smart investing are <strong>low leverage<\/strong> and <strong>portfolio diversity<\/strong>, a fact attested to by the portfolios of eToro\u2019s top traders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Here are some tips for becoming a more responsible trader:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only invest in what you know: Don\u2019t follow random tips or gut feelings. If you want to invest in a certain asset, familiarise yourself with its history and tendencies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Look at your Risk Score: Your unique Risk Score is a great way to see if you are a responsible trader. Keeping a Risk Score of 3 or lower on eToro is recommended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adjust your portfolio: Diversify your portfolio with assets across many classes.
