TJX Companies<\/a> owns popular retail brands including T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, and others. Over time, TJX has become one of the strongest-performing retailers in the market. Even amid the stock\u2019s current 20% decline, shares are still up nearly 100% over the past five years \u2014 making TJX the fourth-best-performing retailer in the S&P 500 over that stretch.<\/span><\/p>\n

Known for offering consistently good deals in its stores, TJX has also commanded an increasingly rich valuation. That\u2019s come alongside steady revenue and earnings growth, as well as three straight years of margin improvement \u2014 a combination that has helped justify a premium multiple.<\/span><\/p>\n

So why the decline? In August, TJX beat earnings and revenue estimates and raised its full-year earnings outlook to $5.15 to $5.20 per share. However, that range still fell short of expectations for $5.23. Same-store sales at Marmaxx \u2014 its largest segment, which includes T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and Sierra in the U.S. \u2014 rose 1%, below analysts\u2019 estimate of 2.8%.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall, it was a solid quarter, but when a stock carries an elevated valuation, expectations tend to be unforgiving. Now the question is whether the recent pullback has brought TJX back toward a more attractive valuation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Future Growth Projections<\/b><\/h4>\n

TJX is two quarters into its fiscal year (2027). According to Bloomberg, analysts project:<\/span><\/p>\n
