We\u2019ve seen a positive start to the year with markets reacting favourably to \u2018less bad\u2019 news and retail trading hitting an all time high. <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Year to date, we have seen an improvement in total commissions and profitability compared with the previous quarter with<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> higher engagement and trading activity from our users.\u201d commented <\/span><\/i><b>eToro Founder &amp; CEO, Yoni Assia.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Financial highlights for full year 2022:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Total commissions of $631 million<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commissions by asset class: 48% equities, 27% commodities, 19% cryptoassets<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and 6% currencies;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Funded accounts as of December 31, 2022 were 2.8 million.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Meron Shani, eToro CFO, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">said:\u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At eToro we need no reminder that markets are cyclical. The diversified nature of our multi-asset product offering ensured that commissions from equities and commodities partially offset the decrease in commissions from cryptoassets in 2022. It\u2019s also worth noting that w<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">e <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">were not impacted by the liquidity <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">concerns which plagued many in the crypto industry. <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our underlying business is profitable and our balance sheet is strong.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cTotal <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">commissions for 2022 were $631 million, down versus our stellar performance in 2021, yet up 5% versus 2020<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We continued to grow our user base despite more negative market sentiment and a reduction in our marketing spend.
