At an average of 2 trades a week, I would be considered one of the less active traders on Etoro. So why do I not trade more?
There are two main reasons for me personally.
1) Good companies are hard to find. It takes a lot of time researching, going through annual reports, quarterly reports, looking at balance sheets and income statement. Making the decision to buy is not something taken lightly. So from this, selling is also not something to be done quickly. In my earlier days of investing I would feel like I had to be buying new companies all of the time, with this it often led me selling stocks of good companies. Often the new purchases would not end up as good as the original stocks sold. This is why I often re-invest new funds into my favourite open positions.
2)Trades come with fees. The more trades you make, the more you pay. If you are a high volume trader, this can lead to high costs, so be careful!
