Analog Devices Inc is an American semiconductor company located in Norwood, Massachusetts. Operating globally, the company was founded in 1965 by two MIT graduates, Ray Stata and Matthew Lorber. Analog Devices develops technology that is used to convert light, sound, and temperature into electronic signals.
In addition to its company headquarters in the United States, Analog Devices also has regional headquarters in China, Germany, Ireland, and Japan. Other offices are located in Australia, Canada, England, Israel, Spain, Taiwan, and more. The company also has a testing facility in the Philippines.
Traded on the NASDAQ using the ticker ADI, Analog Devices went public in 1969. Its initial IPO was for the NYSE, where it is no longer available. ADI stock is also part of the Nasdaq-100 Component and the S&5 500 component. The firm stated in September 2021 that it has engaged into numerous accelerated share repurchase (ASR) agreements with the purpose of repurchasing up to $2.5bn of the company's common shares. The ASR agreements will be executed in accordance with the terms of the company's existing share buyback authorisation, which has roughly $10bn left in it, as of December 2021.
