The firm is engaged in the design, development, and delivery of digital games, content, and other online services for consoles, mobile devices, and personal computers. The firm was founded in 1982 and serves a worldwide customer base. As of 2021, the firm is one of the largest gaming companies in the world, with more than 450 million registered players globally.

The firm makes a range of games for various gaming consoles and platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch, as well as for PC and mobile gaming. Many of the firm’s products are household names, such as The Sims, EA SPORTS, FIFA, Battlefield, and F1. As well as its commercially available paid games, the firm produces a range of free-to-play games for console, PC, and mobile, including Apex Legends, FIFA Mobile, and Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.

The company's games are sold through its Origin online platform, as well as through third-party online gaming stores, such as Steam. Mobile, tablet, and PC free-to-download games are available from the Apple App Store and Google Play. The firm trades on the NASDAQ under the ticker EA.
