Kronos pioneered chloride processing technology as a lower-cost, more efficient and safer method for processing TiO2 and is one of only five producers worldwide with its own proprietary chloride process technology. This greatly reduces effluent waste treatment requirements and increases efficiency in the use of energy and manpower resources. Kronos Worldwide, Inc. is a subsidiary of Valhi, Inc.
