On 25 March 2020, Nokia announced the acquisition of US-based Elenion Technologies, a silicon photonics technology specialist. The purchase of this company was expected to improve Nokia’s time-to-market and cost advantages. HMD Global is Nokia’s parent company. Nokia operates its business through several subsidiaries, including Novarra Inc., Deepfield, Inc., Nokia Bell Labs, Nokia Networks, Scalado, earthmine and many others.
