U-blox Holding AG was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Thalwil, Switzerland. The company develops positioning and wireless communication solutions. U-blox has a broad portfolio of chips and modules, as well as a growing ecosystem of product-supporting data services.

The company operates in more than 28 locations across Asia, Europe, and the USA and employs over 680 R&D engineers in 14 research and development centres. Over 20% of company revenue is spent on research & development.

U-blox serves a wide range of industries, including: Automotive & Transport, Smart Cities, Healthcare, Smart Home and Buildings, Retail, Unmanned Vehicles, Wearables, Infrastructure, and more. The company's R&D collaboration with the University of Bristol won the Research Collaboration category at the TechWorks Awards 2018.
