What Is United States Steel Corp?
Founded in 1901, United States Steel Corporation engages in the production and marketing of flat-rolled steel and tubular steel products. With its headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the company operates primarily throughout North America and Europe. It has approximately 23 locations in the US and one in Košice in the Slovakia Republic.

The company manages its functions through three segments. The first division, North American Flat-rolled Steel, manages the production and selling of slabs, strip mill plates, sheets, tin mill products, iron ore, and coke. The USSE division also provides the mentioned products, as well as spiral welded pipes and refractory ceramic materials. The Tubular segment focuses on seamless and electric-resistance welded steel tubing and casing products. It also manufactures line pipe and mechanical tubing products specific to the oil, gas, and petrol-mechanical sectors.

United States Steel provides its products to conversion, automotive, construction, and appliance customers. Additionally, the company offers railroad and real estate operational services. It has joint venture agreements with companies such as Chrome Deposit Corporation and Patriot Premium Threading services. United States Steel is committed to investing in next-generation steelmaking technologies to support a lower-carbon, more sustainable economy. The company trades on the NYSE using the X ticker.
