mjoh090 @Bruno82 Presumably you are invested in crypto for the purpose of financial gain, and talk/belief about utility is simply to support the decision and hope of making a return on your investment (ROI).
As such, your assessment for gain or loss should additionally factor in opportunity cost - what you gave up to invest in XRP, and what you continue to give up by remaining invested.
The opportunity cost of having invested in XRP is the real opportunity to have invested that money elsewhere for a greater ROI. The opportunity cost of hodling is the real loss of arresting loss of capital with decreasing price and the loss of financial agility to leverage gain from swings in the market etc.
Likewise selling, and not hodling, also comes with a potential opportunity cost, the potential opportunity for increasing capital currently held in XRP with a rise in XRP price.
Notice the difference between real and potential. When the opportunity cost is realised, it is a real cost, and the net difference between the accumulated costs and gains determines at any one point whether you have gained or lost. ... Show More
