Apparently the drop in sales has, by some metrics , been the worst since 9/11, making it worse than the 2008 crash. This should raise some questions, namely, what on earth has happened that is as bad as 9/11 or the 2008 crash? I assume the answer is that people were worrying about the effect of the US government shutdown and so chose to save rather than spend. But that's blowing over now: either they'll agree on a compromise or Trump will use emergency powers to get money for a wall. Regardless of the political effects downstream of using emergency powers, this seems like it should, one way or the other, avoid another shutdown, so *economically* the US will be ok for the time being and the crash in the $SPX500 $NSDQ100 $OIL and the rise in $GOLD should be be overreactions. Of course, these trends could continue for unconnected reasons. Furthermore, this has apparently sent $SPX500 through the 200 day moving average, and this could cause a loss of confidence? I am skeptical. If you are going to use technical analysis, then I say you should stay 1 day ahead of the competition and use the 199 day moving average to base decisions upon. ... Show More
