October Is Here: A Turning Point for Markets? Historically, October has a bit of a reputation, known for crashes like 1929 and 1987, yet, when we look at the data, the story is quite different. This chart shows the average monthly returns of the S&P 500 from 1950 to 2024. And guess what? October has actually been one of the strongest months of the year on average, especially over the last 10 and 20 years. 🔹 It often marks the end of market weakness seen in August and September. 🔹 It’s been the start of the best three-month stretch for the S&P 500 (October–December). 🔹 Even in post-election years, the pattern holds. So while many investors still fear October because of its “crash history,” data tells a different story: It’s often a month of opportunity, not danger. Of course, history doesn’t guarantee the future, but it gives valuable context. Patience, discipline, and understanding seasonality can make all the difference. $SPX500 | $NSDQ100
