𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 👾 No news seems bad enough to shake this market, even several days into a US government shutdown. Investors have seen major headlines come and go, and the market keeps marching on. So it’s no surprise there’s scant concern now. What is interesting is how the shutdown touches different parts of the US economy (see attached image courtesy of Bloomberg), though investors appear to expect it to be short-lived. $𝟮𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 My portfolio is tantalisingly close to the milestone of $ 200,000 in value. I'm grateful to be in such a position, and my next target is $ 400,000 by the end of October 2029. Roughly +20% per annum. 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 As mentioned in my last update, I trimmed $GOOG (Alphabet) and closed $SHOP (Shopify Inc.), taking a +122% profit. A little prior to that, I also closed about two-thirds of my $WBD (Warner Bros Discovery Inc) position as the stock jumped on rumours of an acquisition by Paramount. I've also taken a small position in $MSFT (Microsoft), a larger position in $FCX (Freeport-McMoRan Inc) (one of my favourite businesses for the long-term), and grew my position in MercadoLibre on the back of a recent pullback.
