𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗗 𝗜𝗡 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗦 "𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗟" YTD: 12% After almost 10 years of investing and of which almost 4-5 years on eToro, I have learned that markets often move people long before they move fundamentals. A red day arrives, headlines get louder, social media gets emotional, and suddenly everyone feels the need to act. The funny thing is that, most of the time, the underlying businesses haven't changed nearly as much as the share prices have. We have lived through COVID, inflation shocks, banking scares, wars, rate hikes and countless corrections. What stands out is that fear spreads incredibly fast. One person sells, another reacts, a third follows, and so on, before long nobody remembers what started the panic in the first place. The biggest returns in my portfolio rarely came from my smartest purchases. They came from staying invested when it felt uncomfortable to do so. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵. Yet when I look back, some of the best decisions I ever made were the days I simply closed the app and went for a walk. Conviction doesnt mean ignoring risks. It means knowing the difference between a broken thesis and a temporary wave of emotion. Fear is contagious but so is calm. Have a great weekend everyone.
