As you know, $9988.HK (Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (Hong Kong)) is one of my main positions, and very bullish about the company. But why is it going up today? Alibaba's management ( $BABA (Alibaba-ADR) ) has had an earnings preview with investment banks. In it, the main remarks have been: βœ… E-commerce profits remain stable βœ… Cloud growth accelerates at ~45% YoY βœ… Quick commerce profitability is closer than expected All these signs are great. If you go check my last analysis of Alibaba's earnings release, the second and third points are crucial to Alibaba's investment thesis. With such huge growth in cloud, paired with the end of the cash-burning quick commerce promotions, we are talking about a business strongly undervalued. Besides, the company is buying back shares consistently. Today, for the sixth consecutive day, Alibaba has bought back over 4 million shares (~50 million dollars per trading day). Good news, good profitability, and good activity by the management are all green flags, which explain the positive action of the stock lately. I remain very bullish about this business, and that's why I maintain it as one of the core positions of my portfolio. ___________________________________________________________ πŸ‘‰πŸΌ I'm CristiΓ  Calle, a former CFO of a multinational company with more than 10 years of experience in finance.
