📢 Another busy day on the markets. Days of sharp ups and downs, where everything gets exaggerated — fear, euphoria and headlines. Our portfolio feels it too. Fintechs (FI, PYPL) are still struggling to recover. At these prices they look very undervalued to me, but I’m not adding exposure: they already carry enough weight in the portfolio, and risk management comes first. Same with Adobe: I love it, it’s undervalued, but its correlation with the big tech names means it suffers when the entire sector pulls back. You have to pick your battles. 💊 On the other hand, the healthcare sector continues to show strength. ELV, UNH and ICLR have pulled back slightly and are moving sideways after a good rally since August — I wouldn’t be surprised to see them rebound soon. They perform very well in correction phases, as they proved in 2022. These are positions that bring balance when the tech sector gets nervous. And speaking of healthcare… Humana also reported earnings. The report was solid in numbers but left me with mixed feelings. Adjusted EPS of $3.24 and revenue above expectations, yes, but with a lowered GAAP outlook and margins still under pressure. In addition, the Medicare Advantage business keeps losing members, and that weighs on market confidence. That’s why I’ve decided to lower my price target: the fundamentals aren’t bad, but the context isn’t helping. It’s not always about reacting to headlines.
