π— π—’π—‘π—§π—›π—Ÿπ—¬ π—¨π—£π——π—”π—§π—˜β€¨β€¨ Markets in May were broadly constructive, supported by resilient economic data and continued enthusiasm around AI-related capital spending. While major indices advanced modestly, performance remained highly concentrated, with select technology and semiconductor names accounting for a significant portion of market gains.
During the month, a number of short positions experienced sharp rallies as investor sentiment continued to favor higher-beta and more cyclical areas of the market. These moves served as a reminder that market leadership can remain narrow and momentum-driven for extended periods.
Against this backdrop, we remained focused on fundamentals, selectively adding to positions where our conviction strengthened and reducing exposure where risk-reward became less compelling. We continue to prioritise capital preservation while positioning the portfolio to benefit from attractive long-term opportunities. Best Regards Ann
