Over the last couple of days there have been updates around strong interim results, a higher dividend outlook and a fresh share repurchase plan. The group has increased its dividend forecast for the current fiscal year and has authorised buybacks of up to about 1.3% of its shares. Reuters also flagged that several million shares have been repurchased in recent weeks. This reinforces the message that management is comfortable with earnings and keen to feed more back to shareholders 🔸 PepsiCo announced a new global partnership with the Mercedes Formula One team. From 2026 three of its big consumer brands Gatorade, Sting and Doritos will be featured across the team, which is essentially a long term marketing and visibility play rather than a direct financial event, but it keeps the brand front and centre in a very visible global sport 🔸 International Consolidated Airlines Group has been very busy in the market with its own shares. There have been daily regulatory notices this week showing buybacks of several million shares at around £3.90 as part of a one billion euro programme. On top of that, Iberia has extended its suspension of flights to Venezuela through the end of December after aviation safety warnings, which is a modest operational headwind but more about geopolitics than the core business.
