Semiconductors getting hit hard - no safe corner in the sector 🔴 $NVDA (NVIDIA Corporation) -4.13% | $AVGO (Broadcom Inc) -3.06% | $AMD (Advanced Micro Devices Inc) -5.76% | $INTC (Intel) -6.14% | $MU (Micron Technology, Inc.) -13.18% | $TXN (Texas Instruments Inc) -8.40% | $QCOM (Qualcomm Inc) -8.01% | $ADI -8.58% the surprisingly strong May jobs report added 172,000 nonfarm payrolls against expectations of just 80,000 - partly driven by World Cup infrastructure and hospitality hiring, which ironically helped tank chip stocks by reducing hopes for rate cuts. And Broadcom's AI networking revenue missing estimates by 14% hit harder than the headline numbers suggest - it was CEO Hock Tan's decision to simply maintain rather than raise the 2027 outlook that broke sentiment, in a sector where anything less than raising guidance reads as a warning sign. For long term holders this is noise. For those watching from the sidelines - days like these are worth bookmarking. I am definitely adding more to my portfolio at those prices.
