๐ฌ: ๐€ ๐๐ž๐ฐ ๐„๐ซ๐š The introduction of Bitcoin ETF such as $IBIT (iShares Bitcoin Trust) and $GBTC (Grayscale Bitcoin Trust BTC) in the USA has revolutionized the cryptocurrency market. Many are surprised by the rapid development: Within just 144 days, the $BTC ETF by financial services provider $BLK (BlackRock Inc) reached a managed asset volume of 20 billion dollars โ€“ a milestone that previously was only reached after 985 days. The approval of Bitcoin ETFs by the SEC on January 11 marked a significant psychological turning point. This decision was an important step for the market, and since then, the price of Bitcoin has risen by more than 50%, mainly thanks to the participation of institutional investors. The BlackRock ETF stands out in particular. Within just 37 trading days, it crossed the 10-billion-dollar mark, and only five months later, it reached the 20-billion-dollar threshold. This record significantly surpasses the previous leader, the $JEPI (Jpmorgan Equity Premium Inco) ETF. This rapid development shows the growing acceptance of Bitcoin ETFs, especially among institutional investors. Current data from the SEC shows that 422 institutional investors are engaged in the BlackRock ETF. The growing participation of institutional investors is a central element of this trend. Hedge funds like Millennium Management and large banks such as $JPM (JPMorgan Chase & Co) are increasingly investing in Bitcoin ETFs. Disclosure obligations in the USA show that nearly 1000 institutional investors have invested in Bitcoin ETFs, compared to just under 100 investors in $GLD (SPDR Gold) ETFs in the same period. The influx of capital into Bitcoin ETFs has direct effects on the Bitcoin market. Since the ETF providers must acquire Bitcoin for the purchased shares, there is significant buying pressure. This contributed to a Bitcoin record high in mid-March. As long as institutional investors continue to invest money in these ETFs, the Bitcoin price could continue to rise. Experts are optimistic and see the current investments as just the beginning. They expect that more institutional capital will flow into Bitcoin ETFs. Some forecasts for the Bitcoin price at the end of the year are at 150,000 dollars. Even though I personally don't expect it to become that high. Despite the positive outlook, there are also skeptical voices. Some experts warn against euphoria and claim that the Bitcoin ETFs are too new to justify long-term forecasts. This is a view which I share at the moment. In particular, the high volatility of Bitcoin remains a risk. Should there be a downward movement, many investors could sell their shares simultaneously, which could lead to an abrupt price drop. Best regards!
