With $SPY and $QQQ dropping 0.20% and 0.26%, respectively, it was nice to end the day up - even if it was only +0.11%. The reason why the portfolio remained positive was due to me closing some tech positions while they were up and before they closed in red. Copiers will also find that I have added $O (Realty Income Corp) to my portfolio while increasing my exposure to Utilities and Consumer Staples through $XLU and $XLP . These moves have been made due to the expected short-term volatility and the upcoming FED interest rate cut. I will leave the rest of my portfolio as is since I believe in my current strategy and allocation. The rough 6% Iโ€™m holding in cash will be allocated to a swing opportunity if one arises. ๐ˆ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฆ๐š๐ซ๐ค๐ž๐ญ๐ฌ Current market fluctuations donโ€™t make sense. Weโ€™re witnessing: โœ… Strong company earnings โœ… Good economical data โœ… Inflation has cooled โœ… FED is dropping interest rates โœ… No evidence of an imminent recession All we were really waiting for today was the employment, or rather unemployment, numbers. And, again, they come out positive. The number of new US residents applying for unemployment has dropped yet again. I canโ€™t say it better than Jeffry Bartash over at MarketWatch, so Iโ€™ll just quote him: "๐˜‰๐˜ช๐˜จ ๐˜ฑ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ: ๐˜‘๐˜ฐ๐˜ฃ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ๐˜ด ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ท๐˜ฆ ๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฃ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฑ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ด ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ง๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜ง๐˜ฆ๐˜ธ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฐ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ด, ๐˜ฃ๐˜ถ๐˜ต ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฐ๐˜ด๐˜ต ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฑ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ ๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ต ๐˜ข ๐˜ซ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฃ ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ท๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฑ๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ๐˜บ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ญ ๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ๐˜ธ. Article: tinyurl.com/4666mkzh Long story short, I believe all the data points to continued tailwinds for US equities. Weโ€™ll likely not see as much growth as we did at the beginning of the year, but Iโ€™m confident in my portfolio for the foreseeable future. At least until the US elections throw us another curveballโ€ฆ๐Ÿ˜’
