Brian Chesky, the founder of Airbnb, once said something that deeply resonated with me.
I’ve met many centimillionaires and even a few billionaires over the years, and I can say this is a recurring theme I’ve heard behind closed doors. It’s easy to look at someone’s net worth and wish for their life, but beneath the surface, there are often things you wouldn’t want to trade for.
There’s no doubt that money is important, but it’s equally important to understand the true cost of making a fortune.
The takeaway for me is simple—and it’s something I’ve tried to live by: lead your life with balance. Make money, but enjoy the journey. It’s good to have goals and desires that are still out of reach. Spend time with friends and family, and you’ll find that’s where true fulfillment lies.
