Trading Is Like A Car Crash: But it can be avoided. Ask yourself would you buy a very expensive sports car if you have never driven a car before or had any lessons? Of course you wouldn’t so why are there so many people who trade that’s not done there research on a market, or even done some training or taken lessons, ITS ALL FREE for instance there are many videos on you tube free reading materials free websites the list is endless. Would you do 80 miles an hour through a school zone? Again the answer would probably be NO, but there are so many people who trade, think they can, by this I mean by putting large amounts of their equity at high leverage and hopping for a large pay out, normally finishing up by being either very lucky or generally at a large loss. Remember smaller levels of equity at a lower leverage is much more advisable, but if you have a loss this then gets minimised, however if it is all going well you then have the option to slowly take more low level positions. This is all about money management. REMEMBER always walk but never run. If you are in a traffic jam would you get road rage or would you be calm and patient? Being calm and patient is a major part of trading if you are calm you make better decisions and don’t tend to make major judgment mistakes. If the trade does go the wrong way accepting the loss is a major part of trading being calm you can except this easier and rethink what you would have done better in the future. Patients is also very important if you have a solid trading strategy and you don’t have all your confirmations for the trade then don’t trade but await, until you do this is the difference to a profitable trade or a loss. Last but not least always remember to regular service your car? Always re-assess your trading strategy, if necessary fine tweaking you charts / indicators to make it work for you. Is this what you want for your account a car crash, or a healthy bank balance. Translate
