So I’ve just finished my first full year of trading actively with etoro. I first joined to invest in one up and coming company which I saw a lot of promise in 2021. As you can see that year I made a loss of 43.94% I added more in 2022 and lost 56.4% I then looked to take a more active approach and started to trade on the volatility as this stock tumbled. Which stock?… $ML.US (Moneylion Inc) I sold a lot of positions to rebuy in at lower prices taking small profits as I clawed back previous losses. By the time we moved towards 2023 I added a lot more funds and started to trade a lot more stocks and added some ETFs for balance. After some success with moneylion I started to look for stocks that went through sharp drops, particularly off the back of news which led to speculation. Found success with $NIO (Nio Inc.-ADR) $LI (Li Auto Inc-ADR) $NVEI (Nuvei Corp) $NVDA (NVIDIA Corporation) $HFD.L (Halfords Group PLC) $SE (Sea Ltd-ADR) and a few others. 2023 brought a whopping 61.9% gain. As a comparison I was happy to beat VTI ETF which also had an impressive 26.05% gain in 2023. This account is a high risk very stock specific investment channel for myself but it’s worth noting this makes up about 23% of my total investments. The other 77% is in an 82/18 split between stock/bond ETFs. I have been a bit quieter lately after cashing in 40% of my funds here and have just added recently some $NIO $SE $NVEI $LI and will slowly add more over the next month depending on performance. I haven’t done as much reading on these as I’d have liked yet recently but from last year I was impressed with the direction of these companies and keen to see where they can go in 2024. Halfords uk will be another to watch. What are you looking at for 2024?
