Another very difficult day for stocks. I have taken the opportunity to sell $CB (Chubb Corp) insurance and rotate the funds straight into $LGEN.L (Legal & General) . Chubb has made around 20% gains in less than six months that I have held it. It doesn't seem especially cheap anymore so I can't see gains like this continuing. In contrast L&G is also a large insurance company and looks to be an absolute bargain, as its a strong business which has been hit hard by latest turmoil in the markets despite good results.
The portfolio as a whole is suffering, but I am confident that smart moves like this to seek real value will put us ahead in the long run.
