Is the party over? Five reasons why it's worth looking at boring stocks The past few years have been characterized by a remarkable market upswing. However, considering the sometimes extreme valuations of some companies, the question arises as to how sustainable this development is. Instead of panicking, it might be worthwhile to consider a strategic reorientation and focus on defensive, high-value stocks. That is why I plan to change my portfolio myself in the medium term from cryptocurrency to defensive stocks. I will start by reducing the $BTCXLM position and later briefly reduce my other cryptocurrencies ($BTC). That’s why I am shifting my portfolio slowly towards more defensive stocks: Some stocks/cryptocurrencies seem to already anticipate future breakthroughs, as if they were disconnected from reality. Instead of betting on speculative profits, it may be better to invest in companies whose products and services are indispensable in people's everyday lives. Such companies are often more fundamentally valued and less susceptible to short-term hypes. Defensive stocks are often characterized by reliable dividend payouts. These regular payments represent a direct return and offer protection against pure price fluctuations. In an uncertain environment, a steady cash flow can be more crucial than the hope of price increases. Economic uncertainty or geopolitical tensions can dampen consumer sentiment. While major purchases are often postponed, basic needs such as energy, food, or medicine remain. Those who invest in companies that provide these basic necessities position themselves defensively and with resilience against macroeconomic challenges. It's an interesting phenomenon that institutional investors often discreetly rebalance their positions long before the general public reacts. Their cautious shift from risky to more stable stocks can be an indicator of an impending market shift. It's all about recognizing these signals and not blindly following the trend.
