Dear copiers, This week we significantly reduced our position in Baidu ($BIDU) to secure profits. I still believe its intrinsic value is higher in the long term, but technically the stock is overbought, so I felt it was wise to lock in gains. If in the coming weeks Baidu experiences a meaningful correction, we may re-enter. If instead the rally continues without pause, it is possible that we will exit completely. As a complementary note, the $USDCNH pair is currently oversold. As I have mentioned before, a stronger renminbi supports Baidu’s intrinsic value, but in the short term this pair suggested caution, which reinforced my decision to sell. At present, cash represents 41.11% of the portfolio, which means we are well-capitalized and ready to take advantage of future opportunities as they arise. Regarding $TLT (iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF ) and $TMF (Direxion Daily 20 Year Plus Treasury Bull 3x Shares), even though the Fed’s tone was not as dovish as many expected, I remain confident that rates will eventually come down, even at the long end of the curve. Recession will arrive sooner or later, and these positions should benefit when that happens. As for Volkswagen ($VOW.DE), I remain optimistic. Investing in euros at a time when the dollar was weakening allowed us to benefit not only from the appreciation of the stock, but also from the appreciation of the euro relative to the dollar. While EUR/USD is now back to more normalized levels, I still trust Volkswagen’s long-term value and expect its shares to eventually return to more reasonable valuations. Finally, I don’t see much sense in commenting on every market headline, as most of them are just noise. I prefer to focus on identifying real opportunities, keep studying, and share updates with you when there is a solid reason to do so. Thank you, as always, for your trust.
