📣 First time in decades, China to increase the minimum age retirement 👴🏻 Men would have to work 3 years more from 60 to 63 👵🏻 Women office worker would have to work 3 years more from 55 to 58 👵🏻 Women in blue-collar jobs would have to work 5 years more from 50 to 55 Still one of the lowest retirement age in the region 🇯🇵 Japan: 65 🇰🇷 Korea: 63 📉 The decision mostly related to economic slowdown, ageing population and the decrease in birth rates 🔴 Also local government have been facing pension budget deficits with fewer property taxes to collect 💸 The Chinese academy of Sciences warned the pension system would run out of money by 2035 ⏳ By rising age retirement, they want to delay payouts while workers continue to contribute to the system longer 🔮 Might not be the greatest decision for youth worker. The country still has a very high rate of youth unemployment (that they stopped reporting the numbers about) 🤖 In an era where we were supposed to work less, thanks to supposed benefits from automation and technologies .. 🔎 What's your take on never ending increase of the minimum age retirement ? 🗓️ Maybe we need to contribute for our own retirement instead of asking current working people to contribute for peoples already in retirement (Not sure out it would work though) Seems like a never ending circle .. source: South China Morning Post ✅ Like & Follow for more ✅ Copy for china insights Bonne journée ☕️ $BABA (Alibaba-ADR) $JD.US (JD.com-ADR) $SE (Sea Ltd-ADR) $CPNG (Coupang Inc.) $MELI (MercadoLibre) $VIPS (Vipshop Holdings Ltd-ADR) $PDD (PDD Holdings Inc-ADR) $ZTO (ZTO Express Cayman Inc-ADR)
