He was looking to invest his lifetime savings and was a bit scared of volatility. I showed him the past few days of my portfolio. There have been days when the portfolio has lost about $2.000 a day, only to recover it the next day. Volatility is wild. When I started investing, I remember being so afraid of investing $2.000 in a given stock that I would think about it for weeks. Now, I see the portfolio go up and down that amount without even blinking. What I told him was that he should invest an amount he is comfortable with. That way, he will get used to volatility. Then, by increasing his investments, he will already be used to the percentage changes, although the amount in dollars is going to be higher. This is the way I’ve found worked for me to keep increasing my investments while keeping fear aside. What’s your way to avoid fear?? $BTC $BABA (Alibaba-ADR) $SPX500 $UK100 $FRA40
