COPIERS AND FOLLOWERS UPDATE Hi everyone, another quick update from me as markets show some positivity after a fairly volatile few weeks. U.S stocks have recovered strongly after a period of choppy trading, something which I mentioned before is reasonably typical for this time of the year. As of today, the S&P 500, Nasdaq and the Dow have all climbed to record highs, with a strong earnings season boosting investor confidence. As well as earnings, tech stocks related to AI have continued their overall upswing although there have been sharp swings in individual names as investors are starting to pay attention to individual stocks rather than the sector as a whole. This is partly the reason I have sold our Nasdaq position (for a nice little profit) as, despite the current upbeat market, moving some money to individual stocks is something that I am veering to. Other catalysts for the market moving higher include hopes for progress in the Middle East and a reduction in concerns about supple disruptions. Due to the oil price falling again, bond yields have fallen as expectations over inflation moderating gain momentum. This in turn supports equity valuations, particularly in the growth stocks that have done so well recently. For the portfolio, this has also been the case as our best performing positions in the last 2 weeks coming from growth names. $GOOGL (Alphabet Inc Class A) has advanced by over 26% during this time, with $MSFT (Microsoft) advancing 16% and $AMZN (Amazon.com Inc) over 14%. The portfolio itself has had a good advance in itself and if the market should broaden out we are well diversified to take advantage of any wider stock market gains. I will continue to monitor things closely as I feel the time for using some of our spare cash might be coming soon. As always, I will keep you updated with any changes to the portfolio, wishing you all a great rest of the week. Best wishes, Richard.
