๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ”**Stock picking guide** A quick, and not exhaustive, guide to stock picking, illustrated by my recent $NVDA (NVIDIA Corporation) purchase during last Wednesdays dip. The below list (โ€œINSIGHTโ€) should be merely used as a starting point. ๐Ÿ‘‰Feel free to comment below for more information and follow me โžก๏ธ**Identify Stock**: Choose a stock that you are aware of (know its fundamentals, industry etc). โžก๏ธ**Non-consensus Factor**: Identify a critical factor for which you believe the consensus/sentiment is wrong. The critical factor can be anything such as new regulations/legislation, earnings releases, announcements, new products etc. For $NVDA case, in my view the earnings date had people selling the company for fear that the company could not leave up to the high expectations. โžก๏ธ**Support with Numbers**: Back your hypothesis with facts and numbers. I trusted my analysis performed on $NVDA. ๐Ÿ‘‰Check it out at https%3A%2F%2Fpartners.etoro.com%2Faw.aspx%3FA%3D55714%26Task%3DClick%26SubAffiliateID%3DSocialSharePostcopyLink_11784012%26TargetUrl%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.etoro.com%252Fen%252Fposts%252F0__entry__b310450b-1f2e-496c-afa7-75e5dc5f328f%26ref%3D11784012 โžก๏ธ**Investigate Biases**:Check against behavioural biases. Eg. Seek information to the contrary as a bias insulator. I did some research actively searching for information that supported the view that the company could not meet its earnings and engaged with individuals that supported that the company is indeed overpriced. โžก๏ธ**Gauge Risks**: Understand why your view and valuation differs from the consensus, be aware of the risks and be sure of the quality of the information that lead you to the decision. โžก๏ธ**Highlight Catalyst**: Know when the consensus will change their view towards your own. My catalyst was the Earnings release. โžก๏ธ**Time your Trades**: Timing is everything hence check the catalyst that will shift people towards your view and valuation. I therefore traded prior the earnings release. โญ๏ธ๐Ÿ“…Next stop is revisiting the stock to understand when it is time to sell. ๐Ÿ’ผ๐Ÿ˜ŠAgain the above list is simply an oversimplification of the methodology required and I will be a happy person if it helps you make better investment decisions whether it is trading on your own or copy my portfolio. $NVDA NVDA.EXT $SPX500 $NSDQ100
