A few days ago, one of my Coinbase positions hit an automatic take-profit at $380/shareโ10x the price I paid back in 2022. Not all of my trades had the same purchase price, but overall, Iโve been buying $COIN (Coinbase Global Inc) since their big price crash in 2022. I have many post on eToro where I analyzed its potential. I went through losses with COIN in 2023 and only broke even in 2024. Since then, Iโve continued trading around my position to manage risk.
Despite the volatility, since 2023 Coinbase keeps making new local highs, and every dip has been a great buying opportunity.

Coinbase isnโt just a crypto exchangeโitโs becoming the backbone of the crypto economy. It's one of the few U.S.-regulated players, making it the go-to platform for institutions like BlackRock, while also serving millions of retail users.
They're not just relying on trading fees anymore either. $COIN is building robust long-term infrastructure with:
- Base (its own Layer-2 chain): Their Ethereum Layer-2 chain is a massive play in blockchain infrastructure. Base is getting huge adoption from users and quickly becoming one of the largest ecosystem in the block chain space.
- Staking + subscription services: allowing users to earn yield on ETH and other digital assets in a regulated way.
- Custody services and Coinbase Prime: Big players like Bitcoin ETFs come to Coinbase because of their security and reliability. While many other exchanges experienced security breaches or misconduct, Coinbase still held their ground, focusing on building trust to attract high value institutional customers.
- Coinbase Wallet and Developer tools: The Coinbase Wallet is becoming a key portal for NFTs, DeFi, and Web3 apps. It's loaded with new features and is one of the most user-friendly self-custody options out there.
Think about what's coming:
- Tokenization of real-world assets (stocks, real estate, bonds)
- Decentralized finance (DeFi) going mainstream
- Crypto payments and stablecoins replacing slow legacy systems
- A shift toward self-custody and on-chain digital identity
