INVEST SMARTER: 6 TIPS FOR NEW ETORO USERS! Thanks to the many people who have started copying me in the last few weeks. I try to frequently publish advice for those starting out, so if you are new to eToro, I always recommend you go and discover my older posts for valuable information. Below, I offer a few tips that may help you become a better investor whether you trade on the $NSDQ100 , $SPX500 or just use the copytrading. 1 - READ MY "INVESTING ESSENTIALS" I know how little time a person has available can be. This is probably why you look for traders to copy: to delegate to experts what takes years to learn. However, you need to have some essential elements in mind, which I have condensed and "squeezed" into this list of 15 points that you can read very quickly. Everything you need to know is here: etoro.tw/4biNO5m 2 - INVEST FOR THE LONG TERM As I mentioned in my description (always read the descriptions of the eTorians), any investment you make,including copying a Popular Investor, should be made with the expectation of holding it for YEARS. Investing means buying a piece of a business now to enjoy future profits when they come. Copy trading a Popular Investor requires time and patience for investments to have time to pay off. In my case I always ask to invest for at least 2 years, but slowly my investment horizon is getting longer and longer Thinking from a short-term perspective (months, weeks, or even days) makes you a TRADER (please, don't be a trader!) Don't invest money you may need in the next 12 months; instead, put it in a savings account! 3 - AVOID THESE COPYTRADING MISTAKES Avoid opening and closing investments or copying trades frequently. Every time you start or close a copy, you must pay a spread on any transaction, and especially when it comes to crypto, the spreads can be very high. The eToro automation that makes the copy works well and does everything by itself; once the copy has started you don't have to do anything, the whole system does it automatically. If you start a copy you have to wait a couple of days before it is completely aligned. Don't doubt the eToro bot, and don't close the copy, you just have to wait (sometimes it takes up to 3 working days for a perfectly aligned copy) If I make a deposit and you receive a message suggesting that you add money to optimize the copy, feel free not to do it and don't close the copy and then restart it, there is no need. My deposits are always very small (typically 2% or less), therefore the automatic realignment that will take place will be essentially irrelevant. 4 - DON'T PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET Don't put all of your money into one investment or one copy trading: Decide on a budget for the investments you want to make directly and one for copy trading. Divide your copy trading budget among several Popular Investors (I suggest 5, if your budget allows). Try to diversify not only the investments but also the investment style of the various Popular Investors. 5 - NO F.O.M.O., NO FEAR Don't be afraid of missing out when the markets go up (F.O.M.O. = fear of missing out). Don't make hasty decisions! Don't be afraid to invest when markets are crashing (but be cautious). The best thing is to invest consistently over time. 6 - INTERACT WITH YOUR POPULAR INVESTOR When choosing a popular investor, also evaluate how frequently he writes posts and if he answers questions from his followers. Once chosen, interact with him! You have a free teacher! Use the likes to let him know that you appreciated a specific content and use the comments to ask questions and let him understand which topics interest you the most!
