Dear Copiers and Readers, I hope you had a great October. Let me share with you a few notes regarding my account and some of my thoughts. After a September where I made a few purchases and opened new positions, we had a quiet October and I didn’t feel the need to make any changes. I’m still watching and thinking about a good entry for Duolingo and also SOFI Technologies. Both have a good business model and a promising future. Duolingo is a well-known mobile and web application focused on learning 40 different languages and SOFI is a US-based online financial services platform that provides a wide range of financial products such as mortgages, personal loans and other savings/investment services. A lot of people are also talking about artificial intelligence (AI). It seems that this new industry is not just chips and Nvidia, but there is much more to be prepared for, at least in terms of investments and profits. Any AI will need a lot of energy, so it might be a good idea to have some of these companies in your portfolio. And then what? Yes, it will need infrastructure, internet, data centers, clouds and finally hardware. For example, cryptocurrency mining companies have seen a nice increase recently, these are the companies that have the computing power that AI could massively use. Fortunately, I hold some of these companies from the past, whose goal was of course to profit from cryptocurrency mining and not AI. So this is what has been resonating in my thoughts lately. A quick look at my two biggest investments (T and ZIM). They are in opposite results for October, where T fell by more than 12%, but ZIM rose by more than 13%. The account as such has a 1% gain. Thank you and have a nice weekend.
