I highly advise watching it (link below)! 👇 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐝? It is an AI model capable of predicting the 3D shapes of nearly all known proteins given only their amino acid sequence. This apparently is a huge thing in Biology because protein structure is at the base of everything in life. The shape of a protein dictates how it interacts with other molecules. By knowing the exact shape of a protein, you can design better drugs that attach more effectively to that protein—like a key fitting into a lock. The final goal? To be able to design medicines that will be able to cure all sorts of diseases. 🔑🚀 💡 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞: Now, if you look at the documentary, you will get a sense of how fast DeepMind made progress in this area—moving from an academic challenge to a tool that is now revolutionizing the pharmaceutical industry via Alphabet's spin-off, 𝐈𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐜 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐬. Imagine what can happen if they find a cure for cancer or other complex conditions? Where do you think Alphabet’s stock price will go? This, in my view, will be a massive revenue source for the future that goes far beyond advertising. 💰💰💰 So, even though Alphabet is currently trading at all-time highs, there is arguably much more risk in not owning the stock. The upside potential of "Digital Biology" is enormous, and most traditional valuation metrics do not factor this optionality in yet.
