Donald Trump is considering appointing a Wall Street banker and Bitcoin critic as Treasury Secretary In a Bloomberg interview on Tuesday, Trump announced he would consider $JPM (JPMorgan Chase & Co) CEO Jamie Dimon as Treasury Secretary if he wins the US election. Dimon called $BTC a “over-hyped scam” and a “Ponzi scheme.” In January 2024, during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Dimon said of bitcoin that it “does nothing” and that the real use cases for bitcoin include up to $100 billion a year tied up in fraud, tax avoidance and sex trafficking. That doesn't sound like a crypto enthusiast. But it remains to be seen whether Dimon will back up his words with action and advocate for stronger regulation as Treasury Secretary. However, Wall Street bankers are not necessarily known for this and so Dimon also added the following sentence at Davos: “I defend your right to do bitcoin” $NSDQ100 $ETH $XRP
